DeepL is added to the translation engine of the document translation management service "LifeLang"

Jun 18, 2020

DeepL has been added to the translation engine of the document translation management service “LifeLang”.

LifeLang’s translation engine has used “Google Cloud Translation.” We have newly added “DeepL Translator” provided by DeepL GmbH in Germany, which launched a paid service in Japan, to the translation engine. LifeLang registrants can select and use Google Translator or DeepL Translator when creating translated documents.

DeepL Translator is a machine translation engine developed by DeepL based in Cologne, Germany. From the summer of 2017, it was released for free on the Internet (https://www.deepl.com/translator) , and its high translation accuracy became a hot topic. According to a site that publishes the comparison results of translation engines, DeepL translation is evaluated to achieve high quality translation that surpasses Amazon and Google. The DeepL translator paid service was previously available only in Europe, but was launched in North America on May 4, 2020, and will be available in Japan on June 16, 2020.

From the beginning, we focused on the high performance of DeepL translator and completed the implementation in LifeLang. This time, we have realized the early use of LifeLang in line with the provision of the DeepL paid service in Japan.
